Welcome to SurvivalArtist.com

Welcome to my blog, SurvivalArtist.com. I am an Iraq Veteran. I original created SurvivalArtist.com to vent. To me it has become so much more. You see, I have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

It is here, where I have discovered my voice.

The basic problems facing the world today are not susceptible to a military solution.

I served in the US Army, 216th MI CO, Kirkuk, Iraq, 2005. This blog is a creative mix of my best and worst recollections. I had my own experience, I will not glorify or exaggerate the truth. It is what it is. You won’t find exciting stories of combat heroics here. It just wasn’t like that. It was actually, for the most part, anti-climatic, stressful, physically and psychologically and extremely tedious. I was often left to wonder, ‘Why am I even here?”

    • Hi, Thanks for commenting. I survived Iraq and I am an Artist. Hence the name SurvivalArtist.com. It’s not really a blog about survival training. I would visit Military.com if you haven’t already. It’s a great resource. Good Job with sticking to it! I would stay in school, go to college and become an Officer. The pay is way better :)

  5. What you are doing here is incredible. I have a loved one that I wish could have found an outlet like this, in order to learn how to live with his experiences. Thank you for sharing it with us.

  6. Thank you for starting the petition to keep Ann on the Today Show. I think her fate is already a done deal, but I feel better now that I have joined the petition.
